Bophelong Sports Club is an amateur club, founded on 3rd June 2006 in order to provide sporting activities in the sub-economic community of Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, South Africa.
The goal of BSC is to provide members with an opportunity to participate in their preferred sport; to improve their sporting proficiency via effective training and thereby provide an opportunity to achieve sporting proficiency, to promote a wholesome lifestyle, to engage in social intercourse and exposure to all levels of society.
BSC desires to spread its footprint into the greater Diepsloot community as resources. BSC's vision is that the club will ultimately become a substantial role-player in the provision of various sports codes within the amateur sports arena.
BSC currently focuses its efforts on junior football and other casual sports, whilst accommodating adult footballers. The primary sports code is football, with cricket, running and courts sports following. BSC participates in formal football league matches across all junior age groups. BSC is a permanent venue on the RCFL fixture list and matches are played on Saturdays during football season.
We are also kick-starting cricket and athletics this year and affiliating with the relevant amateur controlling bodies.
We are in the process of pursuing the formation of informal, yet structured, local leagues within easy walking distance of Diepsloot and surrounding areas.
The club facilities are under development and two new soccer/rugby/hockey fields, which will also act as a cricket oval, are currently being developed.

2010 will be an extremely exciting year in the life of the young club. We have committed to host the TUG (The Ultimate Goal) Soccer Festival during June and July 2010. This includes big-screen TV screening of all World Cup Football matches, ministry events, a children's’ carnival, junior soccer tournaments, fun days, and so much more - all in a safe environment and easily accessible to the people of Diepsloot. |
